Tourist Information

The following information is provided for summer vacationers or those contemplating a vacation in Sea Isle City. The details pertain generally to the rental of apartments or homes.

Rate Information 
Rates are determined by three criteria: (1) Distance from the beach or bay, (2) time selected - July & August: peak season or off-peak season, (3) size, type & quality of the unit.  Many of the rental units are assigned a rating to assist you in your selection process.

Deposits, Leases, etc.
Typically summer rentals are for a period of one week or longer. A written lease is required and a 50% deposit is given when the tenant signs the lease. In addition, many property owners require a Security Deposit Protection Plan with a $45.00 - $50.00 fee or a security damage deposit of $100-$500 and some agents charge a small lease-processing fee - usually $25-75. In the event you must cancel your rental, your deposit is held until the unit has been re-rented and is typically subject to a cancellation fee of 10% after 72 hours. Credit cards are not accepted.

What's Included
Rental units are usually complete with the exception of linens & towels. A daily maid service and/or a departure cleaning are not included in the rental, but is available as an option for a reasonable charge. Properties are expected to be left clean at the time of your departure and inexpensive maid services are available if requested. Check for these details prior to your arrival. Pets are not permitted. Most units provide telephones but long distance calls are blocked and a calling card is required. In units that do not provide telephones, you may have messages sent to the rental office, but they cannot always be delivered in a timely fashion. A cell phone would be most practical.

Beach Tags
Beach tags are required for all persons 12 years of age and older and are typically not included with your rental. The cost of beach tags is $20 for a seasonal tag before May 15th and $25 after May 15th, $10 for a weekly tag and $5 for a daily tag. Beach tags are not required on Wednesdays. They can be purchased on the beach from an inspector or at the Beach Tag office at 125 JFK Blvd.

Miscellaneous
Appliance and air-conditioning breakdowns sometimes occur. Under normal conditions, repairs are made within 24 hours. Refunds will not be given for breakdowns of either. It is important to specify the number of persons you need to accommodate when making your reservation. Maximum number of occupants is listed on your lease and filed with the owner's permit with the city. Do not rent a property if you are going to exceed the maximum permitted number of occupants. Check-in time is usually after 1:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon and checkout is by 10:00 a.m. Please return the keys to your rental agent's office so you are not charged for a new set. The unit should be clean when you take occupancy. If it is not, let the agent know immediately. Please leave the unit clean when you depart.
